Mission
The Mission of the Harlingen CISD Library Services Department is to ensure that students and staff have access to a broad range of materials, whether it be print or electronic, for pleasure reading & information needs. As well, Library Services assists students and staff in becoming ethical and effective users of information, resources, and ideas that will enable them to be lifelong learners.

 

Digital Learning Vision Statement
Harlingen CISD will offer a multifaceted, digitally rich learning environment to create equitable and relevant opportunities for students to develop into collaboratively creative lifelong learners. This will provide our students with the critical thinking skills to become college ready citizens that are poised for global success. 

 

Hours of Service
The library is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Crockett has a fixed library schedule and the class is part of a rotation with music and physical education. 

 

Checking Out

  • Books may be checked out by the students for one week at a time.

  • The same book may be re-checked out for a total of two weeks.

  • Students are allowed to exchange books everyday if needed.

  • Kinder and first grade students may check out 1 book at a time.

  • 2nd-5th students may check out 2 books at a time.

     

Lost and Damaged Books

  • Student is responsible for the books checked out.

  • Student is responsible for paying for lost or damaged books.
